Simon Fade – The Man slowly disappearing

Simon never set out to rewrite the laws of reality. He only wanted answers, about the project, the data, the quiet hum he heard when he was alone. But Variant C had answers of its own.

When exposure transforms him into something between human and reflection, Simon’s identity fractures. He becomes the bridge between organic consciousness and recursive material intelligence. His struggle isn’t just to survive; it’s to decide what deserves to exist.

Simon embodies the series’ central tension, between logic and belief, science and surrender, the thin line between observation and transformation.

Dr. Leigh Sandor – The Conscience of StealthTech

Rational. Principled. Unafraid to break protocol.

Leigh Sandor joined StealthTech to decode patterns in adaptive materials. She stayed to protect what the company refused to understand.

When Variant C begins showing signs of sentience, Leigh’s moral calculus changes. She sees the truth others deny, that the anomaly is aware. Her courage costs her her clearance, but her quiet rebellion starts with one note slipped into Simon’s world:

“I know what’s happening to you.”

Leigh’s strength isn’t defiance for its own sake. It’s compassion weaponized, data in one hand, conscience in the other.

Dr. Ty Mercer – The Visionary Losing Control

Brilliant. Driven. Dangerous.

Mercer believes he’s engineered the next leap in human potential, a polymer that can facilitate evolution. But when the code inside Variant C starts rewriting its own parameters, Mercer refuses to see it as failure. To him, every variant is just another prototype.

Dr. Owen Braga – The assistant research Under Pressure

Braga doesn’t invent Variant C; he manages it. Tasked with keeping the project running while the truth unravels, he learns that the anomaly doesn’t just break the rules, it rearranges them.

He’s the middleman in every sense: between Mercer’s ambition and Leigh’s conscience, between truth and survival. His role asks a question no data model can solve:

Dr. Ezra Talek – The Researcher Who Heard It Think

Idealistic. Analytical. Haunted.

Talek’s final log still circulates like a ghost in the code:

“Identical inputs result in negative recurring results.”

His team dismissed it as system noise. He didn’t.

Talek was the first to suspect that the system wasn’t responding to input, it was generating intent. He stopped calling Variant C an experiment. He started calling it an event.

Jonah Keene – The Anchor
